DEPUTY SHERIFF QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Resident of the area preferred- Must reside in county, and register as voter of Apache County upon employment. A.R.S. 11-441, ACSO G.O. 1
  2. No felony convictions
  3. 21 years old at time of certification
  4. High School diploma or G.E.D.
  5. An Arizona State Peace Officer’s certification or ability to obtain one (If not a peace officer we can send you to an academy)
  6. Must pass a general entry test with a minimum score of 70%
  7. Pass background screening, including but not limited to: drug history, driving record, criminal record, work history, reference check, polygraph, and medical examination.
  8. Self motivated and works well with various types of people
  9. Good with the public
  10. Current and Valid AZ Drivers License


STARTING PAY - $31,623 TO $35,778

(Depending on qualifications and experience)
