Description :


Under minimal supervision performs work of considerable difficulty in planning, developing and administering health-related programs; performs related duties as required or assigned. 



Promotes and leads activities to meet program objectives; prepares lessons and facilitates classroom discussions using approved curricula. Assist Program Coordinator with delivery of Active Parenting Workshops and outreach activities. Prepares and maintains records and reports of activities; prepares and secures parent consent forms; organizes collaborative committees; community awareness of service availability; works as a resource to appropriate Apache County organizations, institutions and agencies. Gain community support and participation in community service projects for youth. Continue education and training to enhance performance.  


Assist Program Coordinator with completion of reports, charting and generating data, purchasing and finance procedures, research, development of existing program and/or new programs.  Attend public health meetings and develop coalitions. Monitor and evaluate on-going programs.

                     facilitating classroom discussion

                     developing printed materials



Ability to:

                     represent health district and county in a professional manner

                     administer and present public health programs to the public in individual or group settings

                     establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, school district staff, other agencies and the public

                     effectively interpret written and oral instructions

                     communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

                     maintain accurate and timely documentation of records

               appropriately manage youth in a classroom setting and cope with stressful




A High School diploma or a G.E.D. Certificate and five (5) year public health experience or five (5) years of youth development program experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the capabilities to perform the described duties; related education beyond the high school level may substitute for the experience requirement; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s license; be able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card (including background check), and comply with the District immunization policy.  Bilingual preferred, (Navajo), but not required. Position is in the classified service and is FLSA non-exempt).
