Nature of Work
Performs general and specialized clerical work. Position requires analysis, initiative and judgment to apply practices and policies to a variety of work situations.
Receives and dockets all filings with the court in the automated record management system; receipts all fees associated with filings; process new complaints, petitions and pleadings including, but not limited to, setting up files, labeling files and cause said file or pleading to be delivered to appropriate party as determined by statute or local rules; prepares and processes confidential documents; answers all incoming calls and directs to appropriate employee/department; distributes mail; responsible for balancing cash drawer upon opening and closing of office; responsible for the proper issuance of summons, subpoenas, bench warrants, arrest warrants, orders, writs, order to show cause, marriage licenses and passports; assists in ascertaining case numbers, locating files and pleadings and distributing as necessary or required; pull and distribute files to courts as directed by motion pursuant to statutory requirement and varying time limitations; issues court related documents; certifies and notarizes documents.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of office procedures and word processing systems. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work effectively with employees, elected officials, other agencies and the public.
High school graduate.
