PROPERTY APPRAISER I

Annual Salary: $24,101-$36,152
NATURE OF WORK:
Under Chief Appraiser’s supervision, place on Tax Rolls all Real and Personal Property, within a designated area of the county. Perform clerical and all else assigned with a polite nature.
Assist in the organization and collection of data for residential, commercial and business personal properties. Work up and input all data into Assessor’s system for Land, Residential, and Commercial properties. Create new parcels when necessary. Perform Tax Corrections when necessary. Utilize county and city building permits and moving permits on mobile homes, to place improvements on the tax roll. Review materials sent by state agencies for legislative changes in the law. Organize and optimize canvassing of appraisal properties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Certified with the Arizona Dept. of Revenue and IAAO Level I or will be certified within two years of the date of hire. Possesses basic knowledge in land parceling techniques, manual drafting skills, including scaling, spelling, math, and considerable knowledge of and skills in: computer use, reading topographical maps, Assessors maps and Assessors parceling techniques. A considerable ability to learn and adjust.

High School Diploma or GED Certificate and two years experience in property appraisal work.
Completion of Basic Appraiser certification from the Arizona State Department of Revenue and IAAO certification and possession of a valid Arizona Drivers License.
