NATURE OF WORK:

Under close supervision, performs semi-skilled work of moderate difficulty cleaning and thinning of forested areas in rural areas of the county; performs other work as required or assigned.

Heavy lifting and dragging (50 lbs. or greater) over both level and uneven terrain, use of both hand and power equipment (hand saws, chain saws, generators, ect.), use of garden tools including shovels and rakes. 

Position may require camping on-site for several days during the regular work week.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Some knowledge of:

- occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Considerable skill in:

- operating hand and power tools.

Ability to:

- establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees;

- communicate effectively verbally and in writing;

- follow verbal and written instructions;

- perform manual labor including heavy lifting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of training, education or experience which demonstrates the potential to perform the duties of the position.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

Possession of a valid Arizona Driver’s License.
