| The Apache County Library District operates seven public libraries located in the Alpine, Concho, Greer, Round Valley, Sanders, St. Johns, and Vernon communities. Together we serve the changing information needs of our residents by providing a full range of library services and collections in a variety of formats.
Each of our community libraries has its own personality which is reflected in its collections and programs. All of our libraries loan current bestsellers, books on CD, DVDs, local history, and a broad range of fiction and non-fiction for adults and children. When a particular item is not owned by any of our libraries, we can often borrow it from another library system through our interlibrary loan service. In addition, all of our libraries are equipped with public access computers, copiers and fax machines.
Four of our libraries have completed a nationally recognized program, Planning for Results, which brings library staff and communities together to guide the development of their libraries for a five year period. As a group they discuss, determine, and prioritize library services and collections for their individual communities.
The district has two major projects underway this year. We are automating circulation services for all of our libraries and constructing four new facilities for our libraries in Alpine, Concho, Round Valley and St. Johns.
If you haven’t been to your local library lately, come in and check us out.
