District III Road Crews are currently working on the second phase of a RAC (Resource Advisory Committee) Grant with the USDA Forest Service. The grant provides funds that pay for aggregate base material to be placed on CR 3140. The portion of CR 3140 being worked on is located within the USFS boundary between Vernon and McNary. The County Road Crews are providing the man power, limestone and equipment to complete this project. The project is expected to plate the road surface for approximately 2.65 miles. The first phase of the project started at the northern forest service boundary and extended south. The second phase continued south with the third phase hopefully ending close to the southern forest boundary with the Apache Indian Reservation. Phase III has already been approved for next year.
