Currently: Under the 2003 International Residential Code and the 2003 International Building Codes, as amended by the Apache County Ordinance.
The purpose of the Apache County Building Inspections Division is to “provide minimum requirements to safeguard the public safety, health and general welfare, through affordability, structural strength, means of egress facilities, stability, sanitation, light and ventilation, energy conservation and safety to life and property from fire and other hazards attributed to the built environment.” (2003 International Residential Code R101.3).
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC:
AS OF JULY 1, 2014 APACHE COUNTY WILL NOT ISSUE AN ELECTRICAL PERMIT WITHOUT A
A primary use is considered to be RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL, depending on zoning. A
building permit application with plans indicating site-built OR manufactured home is considered
to be residential.
ELECTRICAL PERMITS WILL NO LONGER BE ISSUED FOR SECONDARY USES such as: Storage,
Utility, and Garages, ect... WITHOUT LIVING AREA
Apache County Building Safety cannot assist in ensuring the health and safety of the public
without proper documentation of a PRIMARY USE.
